A European Commission proposal would limit the role of food crop-derived biofuels and address their indirect land-use change impacts.  The use of food-based biofuels to meet the 10% renewable energy target of the Renewable Energy Directive will be limited to 5%.  by 2020, according to a European Commission proposal.
