LABEIN-Tecnalia is a private, non-profit research organisation with more than 50 years of experience in supporting enterprises and administration bodies in their technological and innovation needs. TECNALIA’s Urban and Industrial Environment Unit (UIE Unit) embraces a multidisciplinary team with different research profiles from Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Physics, Geography or Biology to Environmental Psychology or Sociology. The UIE Unit develops specific instruments and tools for supporting the decision taking activities of the administration and industries, like the management of brownfields and their involvement in urban planning; and the decision taking about contaminated soils and groundwater remediation.
Some key figures: 38,5 M€ of total return, participation in 171 projects and 28 projects with members of TECNALIA as project coordinators.
